What are the ongoing tax and accounting obligations for a Cyprus company?

A Cyprus company must keep accounting records for 7 years and appoint an approved auditor for its bookkeeping and annual financial statements covering January to December, with the profession overseen by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). Companies must have a Cypriot resident as a director, hold an annual board meeting, and submit audited financial statements within 2 weeks using form HE32. Corporate income tax is 12.5% on the company's net profit, filed on form IR4 by the end of the following year, and the annual company levy is €350 due by the 30th of June, while defence tax of 20% x 87.5% of net profit applies to residents. VAT is filed every 3 months online with payment within 40 days. Because rates and deadlines change, treat the official businessincyprus.gov.cy page as authoritative.
